SUMMARY

My development background includes creation of browser based, client server, and mainframe applications as well as management of these projects.  My experience encompasses the full development life cycle from business design to construction and maintenance.  The roles I have played include architect, team and project manager, mentor, and trainer.  I have three plus years experience creating web sites and thin client applications as well as nine plus years of Client/Server experience. My web experience includes Cold Fusion, ASP, VXML, PHP, JavaScript, Perl, JSP, and HTML.  I developed PowerBuilder, Visual Basic, and C Client/Server applications.  I customized and installed Allaire’s Forums and Maxum’s Phantom Search Engine.  My seven plus years of developing PowerBuilder applications helped me earn status as a Certified PowerBuilder Developer.  My written and oral communication skills allow me to interface with all levels of users and management.

HISTORY

wKDH Software, Inc.   August, 1993 - Present

As President and Technical Director of this small software and contracting house, I am responsible for obtaining clients and meeting their needs, marketing the company to both clients and potential sub-contractors, performing accounting duties, and acting as chief architect.  My management skills and efforts to provide clients the consulting services they require continue to earn KDH Software many extended and repeat engagements.  Clients include The Northern Trust, Aon Reinsurance, Allstate, Corris – RR Donnelly, Sears, REM Corporation, DK Systems, MyWeddingPlans, Inc., and ShopTalk Networks.   KDH Software collaborates with Creative Concepts Online, Inc., Automated Information Management, Inc., and CodeWorks, Inc.  In addition to leading members of clients’ staff, I am responsible for the sub-contractors that KDH employs.

As chief architect, I produce browser based and client server applications in a number of programming environments.  During my three plus years of web development, I have played a part in the creation of numerous websites and browser-based applications.  I designed and developed REM Corporation’s B-to-B website.  The benefits from the website to REM Corporation include cost savings by decreasing the time and efforts needed to deliver products, increased revenue from web orders, and additional services such as order tracking and report delivery for the 1800 plus customers and order fulfillers that now use the website.  My B-to-C experience includes development of a web based registration system and a voice web message reminder/retrieval application.  My knowledge of Cold Fusion allowed me to customize Allaire’s Forums product and create custom tags.  My experience in writing ASP, VoiceXML, JSP, HTML, JavaScript, PHP, and Perl has been used on a variety of sites.  My development experience with PowerBuilder dates to its version 2.0.  Due to this work with PowerBuilder as it matured, I provided training and mentoring to a number of clients.  I participated as programmer, project lead, and architect on many successful PowerBuilder and Visual Basic projects.

I have been commended for quickly getting up to speed and becoming productive as well as my ability to work with users and team members.  Please see http://www.kdhsoftware.com/pages/dah_projects.html for a list of my projects.

wKeane, Inc.   July, 1991 – August, 1993

As a Senior Analyst, I met client needs working on on-site projects as well as working with team members to answer RFPs.  Clients included Cotter and Company, ARI International, ACNielsen, and Aon Reinsurance.  My initial responsibilities included designing, coding, and testing shell scripts and C applications.  For one project, I acted as system administrator for a Point of Sale system development environment.  As team leader on his next Unix project, I was responsible for the establishment of the system and verification testing environments in a client/server architecture.  I was instrumental in the debugging process by finding bugs and creating solutions.  My team leader responsibilities included overseeing creation, cataloging, and execution of test data and cases as well as writing system documents.

As a team leader, my responsibilities included prototyping, designing, scheduling, coding, and implementing an output system using PowerBuilder.  The system gave users the ability to electronically mail, fax, or print output to contacts selected from a Sybase database or the mail system.  I coded scripts, triggers, and stored procedures.  I also designed and coded Microsoft Word Basic macros and C DLLs to use MAPI and DDE in order to access Microsoft Mail and Fax Gateway products.

wMotorola National Systems Service Division   January, 1990 – April, 1991

I designed, programmed, tested, and installed software using structured methods for both in-house and customer use in a UNIX environment.  My responsibilities included team leader and lead programmer.  Major projects included: authored National Systems Service standards document on the requirements phase of structured programming methods and participated in the design of standards documents for design, coding, and testing, created detail designs from customer requirement specifications and developed project system and unit test plans in a structured programming environment, customized terminal emulation modules written in C to provide local and remote communication for National Systems Service's customers and service representatives, International Law Enforcement Management system and an Equipment Problem Tracking system.  I was instrumental in the successful on schedule implementation and sign off of these projects that were written in C, SHELL, and Informix in a UNIX environment.

wInSol, Inc.   June, 1988 – January, 1990

I built a system to create bar coded labels, designed interface programs to existing accounting software, installed hardware and enhanced software for a radio based dispatching system, credit authorization and truck/trailer dispatching systems.  My efforts led to the successful on schedule implementation and sign off of these projects that were written in C, SHELL, and RM COBOL in a UNIX environment.

wZurich-American Insurance Company   June, 1987 – June, 1988

My roles included lead programmer and customer liaison.  Using COBOL, BAL, and CICS programming languages, my responsibilities included all phases of project development from design to implementation as well as trouble shooting.

wAmeritech   June, 1984 – June, 1987

As part of the CRIS team, I maintained several Cobol and JCL programs.  As lead programmer in the Long Distance Billing group, I created and maintained several C, Cobol, and JCL programs.  I was commended for designing and implementing changes that greatly reduced the number of rejected records and improved run time of the billing application from six hours to 45 minutes.
